Jesus Heals Blind Bartimaeus
Title: Jesus Heals Blind Bartimaeus
Author: Diane Grebing
Illustrator: Dave Hill
Genre: Traditional Literature (Religious)
Award: N/A
Grade Level: PK-3
Long ago, there was a blind man named Bartimaeus sitting on the side of the road. He heard Jesus, who was known for his ability to heal, passing by. He called out for Jesus and asked to be healed from his blindness. Seeing Bartimaeus's great faith, Jesus healed him and Bartimaeus was now able to see.
Since this is a religious story, I probably would not be able to use this book in a public school setting. However, the book would be suitable for students under 3rd grade with its simple storyline, colorful illustrations, and rhyme scheme. I could use the book during the rhyming unit in which students can identify the rhyming words and rhyme scheme, and produce rhyming words.
