Children around the world have different ways of going to school. Some walk, some run, some use the bus, car, boat, horse, train, skis, and bicycle to name a few. How they go to school is dependent on their environment and access to transportation. In the back of the book, there is a list of where all the people are from and a map to accompany it. This book is written in couplet rhyme and has a rhythm going from one place to another. The colorful watercolor illustrations show the children going to school in various landscapes. I would use this book for the social studies unit as students learn that people living in different places have different ways of living. Students can research the different places on the map to learn more about the culture and compare it with their own way of life.
